Notice of Motion from the Conservative Group

This Committee:

1. Pays tribute to Stuart Strong who retired as Manager of Volk's Railway on Friday 18^th March 2022 after 29 years of service; and to the tireless work of Volk’s Electric Railway Association volunteers and supporters;

2. Recognises recent work to Madeira Drive; ongoing work at the Aquarium Terraces and Black Rock; and proposals for works to the Undercliff Walk;

3. Notes that the following Conservative Group Amendment to the Council’s 2021 Budget received cross-party support:

“Provide £0.100m capital investment to support towards the purchase of a disabled access carriage for the Volk’s Railway. To be match funded from grant applications and alternative funding streams.”

and;

4. Calls for an Officer Report detailing options for grant applications with a view to expediting the matter.
